Warning light holders

Has anyone located a source of the small wedge bulb (T5/286) as used on 1977 on 350/500 sports/stradas and 250s with the rectangular warning lights.
The morini part number was 46.03.25 - not coming up on Mdina Italia.

Most T5 holders I can find are the twist in type used on car instruments panels.
I can't find any push in ones with 6.3mm spade terminals.

They sound the same as used in the instruments of BMW R series (oilhead) boxers. I recently replaced all mine with equivalent LEDs which I bought from Amazon. Probably more widely available over there, but when in the centre of a v. quiet part of France...

similar bulb but i think its T5 which is a little wider, but I need the plastic holders as well. Mine are rotten.

I fitted LEDs to all the instrument fittings ages ago with the exception of the indicator light. The blue headlamp warning light is actually too bright and I cleaned the coloured lenses with cotton buds as well. I used red instrument back lighting just to be a bit flash. I do not have a fuel warning light but know to top up after about 140 miles on a run.

Quite - but you also have a reserve tap and previous knowledge. I was on a 'new' bike of unknown performance.
LEDs are bright, but not illuminated most of the time, so not that much of a problem.

Thanks guys - I have the bulbs they are 286 bulbs- but i will check out the LED replacements that Ming put me onto.
I am trying to get the holders are in the picture:

The critical diameter is about 9.5mm, that which fits inside the instrument light lens (red,blue, green etc)

For the holders, you could try Moto Guzzi bits. If you can't find any and are handy with a soldering iron you could make up some bespoke lamps using individual LEDs with appropriate series resistors to fit in the lens units. You could even use coloured LEDs and limit the current to dim them somewhat.

Hi Ming,

Gutsibits have the larger sizes, I also checked the BMW R series and they use the same bulb but have a rectangular fitting.
All the car ones are twist fit into a thin panel.
I think I will try to adapt the LED ones you found on Amazon - they so cheap its worth a punt. And you suggest limit the current.

website shows similar bulb holders, don’t know about postage costs.

Thanks for looking - these are for BA9s bayonet bulbs - actually they are used in the speedo/tacho on post 1979 models. so its a useful source.
They are too large for the warning lights though.

These look promising - I'd have to file off the lumps, these are normally fitted into panels with a 90 degree twist.
It then depends if I can get the right push fit.
