Would someone be able to give me a month & year of manufacture based on a frame & engine number?
1975 drum brake 3 1/2 Sport
Fame 06129
Engine 06129
I need this information as part of my role as Secretary of the Classic Italian Motorcycle Association of Australia (Vic) Inc.
Cheers
Trevor

Here's a useful link from the Dutch Morini club,
http://www.motomoriniclub.nl/framenumbers.html
I doubt if you can narrow it down to the month only that it is a 1975 model.

My Strada has number 87xx and was registered May 1976 so the NL site is a good guide, but ultimately not accurate for build year.

Trevor, since the bike has an engine number that matches the frame number then I assume it's a US import (??). If that's the case, then there are two possibilities:
1. the bike should have come with the Title doc, which will show the date of first registration in the US. I believe Title doc is required for US Customs export approval.
2. with any luck it still has the US FMVSS sticker (equivalent of Oz ADR's) somewhere on the frame, which will show date of approval for reg purposes in the US.
Of course, none if this will help with actual month/year of manufacture but probably the closest you'll get in terms of any sort of formal documentation.
[ignore above if this is a non-US bike].

UK bikes also had an engine number stamped to match the frame number. My Strada is 724x so earlier than Mickeymoto's, but it wasn't registered until October '76, despite having been built in 1975. And there are no official factory records to give a definitive answer.
