The left switch on my Morini is in a poor state and not easy to use. What is the best alternative switch gear to use?
Maybe something Japanese?
Thanks all.

I like the later switches used on Excaliburs etc. I have one fitted to my Strada.

I just bought a good quality CNC'ed switch and rewired for it.

Thanks guys. That's nice Paz, where did you get that from?
The Excalibur switch could well be my choice though.
It's so nice to have a classic forum where originality is less important than usability

I cant remember, Holland I think. I will dig out the receipt when I get home if you want. It is well made and very inconspicuous.

Hi Paz.
Both of my Morini's are fitted with the switchgear from a Honda NSR 125 (1998-2003 model). Cheap to buy and were reasonably plentiful on ebay. Early Fireblade switch is almost identical. Most newer switches no longer have a lights on/ off function. Same width as the CEV one and a lot more ergonomically designed. I did an article about them for ATG a couple of years ago. For me it is a perfect replacement. Can be bought new - see [/url]

That's the same unit I have fitted to my 350 K2, only the horn button is black. Works very well.

In the end I found you can still get the original style albeit with incorrect wiring. An hour with the soldering iron and I had the new switch fitted with the old loom. Looks good and works great.

Hi,
Do you mean the original unit is still available new?

Yes, it's still available as per my picture but the wiring connected to it is different (the switch housing and internals are identical, same part number on the housing).
You have 2 choices; either desolder and fit your current switch wiring or adapt the wiring the new switch comes with. I kept my original wiring as it was in good condition.
To be honest, if originality doesn't matter just go with a generic switch as suggested here. I was speaking to NLM and they said they stock them, so I bought one. I should have checked the price first though!
