Evening All,
Can anyone advise or provide pictures of the original 6 pole ignition switch connections related to orientation please? Attached is the one on my bike but I'm getting nothing through it to my knowledge.
Ohms from alternator is a steady 204 which should be good (he says)
Getting power to the regulator on yellow cables enough to light an LED test light but not enough to light a 12v bulb.
I have read lots and watched Sorens & Pauls videos on testing but nowhere can I find anything on the ign sw! Any other pointers would be appreciated from those more knowledgable than me.
See attached, tks
Archie

Re: 6 Pole Ign Switch - Connections
Thanks John,
I've looked at dozens on this site and come up with nothing pictorial that shows coloured wire to switch pole terminals. Wiring diagrams seem vague! I did take pictures of the switch before removal and dismantling but as the bike didn't run before I can't be sure that it was correct to begin with as it had sat in a garage since 83/84 and I don't know what the PO may have fiddled with or didn't for that matter.
I'm not an electrics guru but normally manage to muddle my way through fault finding and get a result, however I'm making progress but slowly.
Regards
Archie

Re: 6 Pole Ign Switch - Connections
For Info,
I'll add to my last that it took a magnifying glass to see the numbers embossed on the rear of the ignition switch. Also the pictures I added were wired wrongly but now correct in accordance with the above.
I'll have to return to continuity checking to see if there is any breakdown between in the cables as I still have nothing in the way of power other than on the yellow wires to the regulator. I guess thats a positive though and helps eliminate the alternator and flywheel.
Many thanks.
