I have just replaced the two leaking pet taps on my 250 2C but there are no markings as to the on/off position.
I assume on is straight down, but is off pointed towards the front of the bike or the back.
If one points forward for off does the other point back for off?
Thanks
Frank

Re: Pet cock again
Hi Frank,
Can't you pull the hose off and see when petrol is flowing?
If you have the original style Paioli / Oldani taps (the square ones) then lever horizontal = off, lever down = on. Off doesn't matter which way it is pointing for off.
Regards,
George.

Re: Pet cock again
On my 2c the remaining original square tap (left hand side) lever points back for off, down for on and forwards for reserve. I can't remember if the right hand one had to be operated 'backwards' or if there were right and left hand taps.
The replacement 'round' tap I got from NLM is clearly marked and is lever down for on, front for off and up for reserve.

Thanks everyone, I am sure that I have it sorted. Opposites show that it is off after flooding my garage.
