Exhaust system balance pipe

Please will someone kindly tell me the length of the balance pipe (mm) associated with the standard exhaust system for a 1976 Strada.
It's one of a few items which are missing and last time I enquired with NLM, they have none in stock. My option is to make one up and would prefer to avoid putting the exhaust together just for the sake of.
Thanks for any help forthcoming.

282 mm about 11 inches.
That's as near as I can measure it on a org system on a 75/76 350 Strada

Hello Ralph,
Thank you very much for taking the time to come up with the measurement. I've bought some steel tube, close to the correct inside diameter. It should be possible to sleve it down after a bit of handy work.
Thanks again, Chris.

The original balance pipes have two slots cut at each end. Slots are 2 mm wide, 22 mm long. The 22 mm length includes a 5 mm hole at the end of each slot. (This info might or might not be useful ... )

Thank you also texaskitty for the good details,
There is in the collection of parts associated with the bike, an end section of the original balance pipe. This chopped end section has the slots and holes exactly as you describe and it is good to have confirmation of it matching up. Once the pipe is sorted it will be sent off for plating, along with the rest of the exhaust pipes.
