Hi,
I need to replace the front Master Cylinder and front
Caliper. They are original Grimeca's. Single disc.
Should I replace them with Grimeca's or is there something better?

Nothing wrong with the calipers and Grimeca prices are very good.

The standard single disc setup is a bit wooden becuase the master-cylinder is a bit too big. Putting on a 250 mastercylinder (which uses the same front wheel, caliper and disc) will improve the feel no end. The standard 350 cylinder is ideal if converting to twin calipers and discs.

Clean the disc with something like a Garryflex block to remove the coating left by the pads and buy a new set of nice soft Newfren pads.

He'll 'ave to- they are the only ones you can get!

(Or are there more available now? It's a while since I bought any.)

I'm pretty sure EBC do pads that fit, but don't, they're lethal on chrome discs.

Alex was using ceramic pads on his bike, Dunlopads I think.

It was a common enough calliper, so there WERE lots of pads available.

Many if these may show up on ebay as NOS.

You need to have a material that will form the proper coating on chrome.

Thanks, I was thinking of maybe replacing the grimeca with a Brembo, but the Grimeca cleaned up nicely. Newfren pads are the ones I got.
