Dilemma!!!

Hi, I was treating my bike to a oil change and was using a small funnell and a length of pipe about 6 inches long attached to it to prevent spills. Unfortunately the pipe came off of the funnell and has slipped into the engine. I have tried peering into the engine using a powerful torch and also used a long extendable tool with 3 retractable digits on the end to try and retrieve the pipe. No joy. I have took the strainer off and using a long mirror tool tried to see round the back of where the strainer sits. Still no joy. I am now thinking of using my compressor to blast some air through and hope to freethe pipe.
Anyone else had anything like this happen? Any advice?
Thanks

Oh My,,, you have an issue here as the "pipe" could be "gobbled up" by the rotating tranny gears.....
Is the pipe iron based (magnetic) ???? If so, then a magnetic pick-up tool could retrieve it...They come in all shapes and sizes...
If non-magnetic, then something very sticky has to be probed onto the pipe to pull it up and out....
Have you tried little dental mirrors to see where it is exactly? There are some very inexpensive bore-scope cameras on Ebay that hook up to lap top computers for things like this.. I have used one myself to check on the tranny gear teeth of my Morini...
Last resort would be to remove the engine and turn it upside down to get it out...I am not kidding !!! Taking the motor apart would be way more work....
Good luck with this,

Cheap USB endoscope and a flexible pearl catcher tool.
It's got to come out!

Bad luck, hope you can see it.What was the pipe made of,metal or plastic? i am guessing plastic. i assume you have drained all the oil again as you state you looked at the filter. It may be laying on top of the gears, or maybe on the crankcase floor. it will be tricky to remove either up or down through the drain hole.
Anyhow let us know what you find.
