Hello all,
With the big Speedweek Event at Bonneville canceled for the 2nd year in a row, the SCTA is having a "Standing Mile Race" on a large runway in Mojave, CA this weekend. With climate change and the Salt Flats shrinking, this is going to be the future of Landspeed Racing I'm afraid.
We'll see how the Morini does on pavement which should be a nice change from the dry dirt at El MIRAGE and the soggy salt at Bonneville.
Years ago I was at the same airport for a month working on a P-51 air racer and I remember the wind blew every day from sunrise to sunset. The wind will really help or hurt there I'm sure...
