Gear lever and tank sealing

I have broken the gear lever on my 1975 Strada. The end snapped off in a crash. No one has any new or used in stock, local attempts to get it repaired have failed .Has any one managed to find an alternative that will fit from any other bike or got one for sale ? I have exhausted my local shop and catalogues.
Also I want to seal the tank, anyone got any recommendations of the sealants available.
Thanks

As far as tank sealing goes I use POR 15 sealant but pre treat the tank first using the "Motorcycle tank repair kit" as sold by Frosts. You MUST ensure the a\nk is cleaned using the kit then absolutely DRY prior to adding the sealant.Make sure the fuel taps are removed and seal the holes with e.g.gaffa tape. You ought to move the tankabout to ensure sealant is dispersed throught the tank.
I have used this without any degredation for 10 years. Only time it failed was on an old Morini tank, where one leak persisted. I removed all the sealant with nitromors (horrid stuff) and found 23 holes, the largest were around the fuel tap area.
Cannot help with the gear lever.Good luck.
