to flash or not to flash
indicators wont flash without engine running, the battery is off my Honda and is good as it starts up off the button, and the indicators work on the Honda without the engine ruuning, the flasher relay is in working order I have tried another one and it still wont flash without engine running anyone any ideas why, as I have said the batterey is ok , not sure if the morini alternator is giving out enough current to fully charge the batterey as the bike is in full time use the horn and lights all work, bit of funny one. muller. I forgot to add the indicators I have on the morini I fitted those mini type ones so not original type and they use a different bulb.

Paul
if led indicators they need a resistor fitting to the circuit
if led indicators they need a resistor fitting to the circuit
Re: to flash or not to flash
What happens if you flick the flasher unit when the indicators are switched on? It may be the flasher unit is working when the bike is running due to vibration effects.Maybe earth points are an issue? I had tried mini indicators, the bulb was 21W and I was told poorly visible to the rear. The indicator flash rate was too high as well.I now use indicators obtained from Vehicle Wiring Products which run at 9W which gives me more wattage to play with and are much brighter.
