Hey guys,
loving riding my morini. What a sound!!!!
i have bought a new reserve tap. I know this sounds silly, but is it just a case of whip the
old one off, try not to get covered in petrol and stick the new one on? Is there anything specific
i need to do?
thanks
Ben

Re: replacing reserve fuel tap
Should be that easy. I assume the tank is nearly empty already. I usually find fuel pathways are prone to leaking after being disturbed but a new tap should be straightforward. Otherwise some new pipe might not go amiss if it's old.

Re: replacing reserve fuel tap
I'll second the fuel pipe changing.
I took my Excretia to work on Wednesday and all was fine, except all the jeers and wristy gesticulations that come with riding an unorthodox machine.
Got it out on Saturday, started it and it ran like a dog. Looking down I noticed fuel issuing forth from the tap area (pissing out for the uneducated). The pipe had cracked where it enters the tap as it had a small curve. I had changed the pipe between the carbs, but not the pipe from the tank. Worth the 90p per foot or whatever the cost and don't forget the clips, I failed an MOT as I had a clip missing on a fuel pipe.
Mike.

Re: replacing reserve fuel tap
The banjos on the carbs and the fuel taps have 8mm stubs. The common fuel hose is 8mm or 5/15" and isn't a good tight fit. Trying to make it so by overtightening a clamp doesn't work long term.
Buy 7mm hose!
