LSR Solution to the Starting Issues

Post by smotorboy »

As I had horrible cranking backfires with the kickstarter last year, this is how I'm working around that problem.

$100 in bearings, pulleys, wheels/tires, and shafting plus an old 5hp gas motor equals 20 mph rear wheel spinning.

Starting up is a dream now rather than a potential blower repair...

I love it. A bit big to get in my very small camper van though when going to hill climbs with the bikes on a trailer. There's a similar contraption regularly in use at those to persuade a Vintage Douglas in to life amongst other things.

The 'grinalot special' started 4th kick today despite not having run for 6 months. NGK Iridium plugs are worth every penny!
