I recently acquired frame A/1*11594* ('77) and there is some discussion on the Dutch forum that this is not possible... A/1's are supposedly only build in '74/'75 with frame numbers up to 6300?
Any other A/1 frame owners out here who want to set up a list of real Sport A/1's out there?

first reaction from Down Under:

i found my bike in Japan. It's a 350S with the following frame.
A106038. According to the Japanese registration paper, it was first registered in March 1976.

The bike will arrive in Australia next week. Please send me a link to the list when you have it done,
Regards,
Peter

Hi,

I am based in Australia and own a 1974 3 1/2 Sport that was one of the original nine delivered here, apparently there is only three surviving left, not sure where the other two are. The build number of mine is A1 05179 which indicates that it was built late 1973. It only has 9000km but I am currently undergoing a complete rebuild, so she will be better than when she left the factory. I am keen to get her back on the road as she is the best handling bike I have ridden, two years ago I surprised a Honda CBX 1000 rider when he clocked my speed over 160km/h and I hadn't even gotten into 6th gear.

I just finished rebuilding a 1972 Benelli Motobi 250SS that had been sitting in dry storage for 30yrs, she has only travelled 3300 miles, and runs beautifully.

I also have fun riding my 1942 Harley Davidson WLA, the first few corners are always interesting remembering what bike and gearing.....

Cheers

Brett

Brett,
Another 45" rider!, excellent, I've had my WLC for going on 30 years now, the polar opposite of my Morini and in it's own way every bit enjoyable!.
I'm now the owner of an Aermacchi Sprint 1966, haven't laid eyes on it in the flesh yet, it's in Michigan, but I do know it's going to need a total rebuild, Ala D'oro style, but it won't replace my wonderful Morini.
