I've just found a small (10mmx3mm?) rust hole on the underside of the the right hand side exhaust of my K2, about an inch or two back from the point where the silencer clamp would be, ie, the bit that's actually inside the silencer. The silencer was rusted to the pipe and the area in general has been attacked by rust.
In fact the last 11 inches of pipe (the bit inside the silencer) seems to have a smaller wall section than that on the other side of the bike, as if it's all being corroded somehow, by water/rust, excess heat, or whatever.
Any ideas what may be causing this problem - rust one side but none the other?
I reckon I need to repair and find out the cause before I just reassemble with the new silencers.
Also, as it's about 2 inches from the chromed area, could it be welded successfully?
Lastly, if I end up needing a replacement right side pipe, anyone out there got one in black chrome?

Cheers,
Mark.
