Disc Brake is binding occasionally, bought some new seals from NLMC and having striped the caliper found the pistons were corroded beyond recovery. NLMC don't have any pistons in stock they do however have replacement calipers for £90 +vat. Does anyone know of anywhere I can get pistons or have them made before I get the plastic out for a new caliper. Thanks

If you have a friend involved in engineering it is a relatively simple job to make new pistons from stainless bar however there is no point doing o if the caliper bore is damaged by the corrosion.

The other option would be to use the companies who advertise reconditioning for calipers. Could be as expensive as a new caliper though.

Thanks for the suggestions, used to have friend that could help but unfortunately they no longer work for the same company. Made some lovely exhaust nuts but that's another story.Tried surfing the net, will have another go and see what comes up.

I got some stainless pistons off Ebay last year, but the seller doesn't seem to be listing any currently. With new seals they transformed my front brake. Are they fairly standard dimensions that might be found on this Wemoto list?

Speaking of e bay.numerous sellers have ground stainless bar for sale.if you are lucky you could find some in the correct size.

I have done this before when my lathe was out of commission but not really recommended..simply part off the individual lengths and after defrazing, drill the centre out then use accordingly.

I have a good bandsaw which helps achieve fairly clean and accurate cuts but it is not so easy by hand..
