Hi Guys

The biggest problem I have is, that I live in Canberra Australia and there are no motorcycle specialists that I am aware of that can work on these old bikes. So this being said I was wondering what special tools I will need in order to carry out as much of the servicing/work to my Sport.

Also a list of parts and where I get buy them from would get greatly appreciated.

As to tools there are a few which you see in the manual, the one you really need is a flywheel puller to get at the belt, only about £10.

You should be able to find one locally it's 27mm x 1.25mm thread size, don't use a universal one with legs.

You should use a flywheel holder with it but it can be done without (especially if you have a rattle gun).

The other tools are clutch holder, clutch nut holder, primary gear tool. I sure there are others but my memory fails me.

Some can be made others can be worked around all can be had from NML.

Hi Ponch, the guy I use in Auckland works on and owns Moto Guzzis, BMWs and assorted British - so a person in that league will possibly have more sympathies with your Morini than an average Japanese repair house. If I take a specific job to him he always gets my manuals and printouts from the clubs or forums to digest over his pre-job tea and biscuits. If it's a problem he has to diagnose, the manuals are vital. The only specific tools I have are an exhaust-nut ring-spanner and the generic flywheel puller many of us have that comes from a Vespa (or similar) dealer.

Oh, and perhaps look harder spread your net wider, go to any Canberra bike events you can (especially Italian) and talk to people. You'd very likely find someone useful coming out of the woodwork sooner or later. Mate, if I can do it in Auckland ...

Hi Ponch,

Probably the better people as Dom mentioned are those that can work on old Ducati's or Guzzi's and take your manuals with you. Basically those that have experience with Dellorto carbs really helps.
