Rev counter

Post by atreyu »

Hi All,

I've just started the engine on my Morini after it's rebuild, all seems fine. I'm going to clean the carbs at the weekend as they've been stood a while! (didnt expect it to actually run!) and I've strobed the ignition so it's pretty close for now.

My question is, the rev counter isn't working at all. I've got it connected up as it was before which according the wiring diagram I have, is correct.... (but I could have got it wrong!) So can someone confirm which terminal on the coil the grey pick up wire goes to. Failing that how can I test to see if it works? Where can I put wires directly to?

Sorry, I've got no rev counter but I can't recommend putting new jets/gaskets in those nice, clean carbs highly enough!
Cheers,

Tacho is very sensitive to its electrical inputs. When I got my 31/2 Tacho just jittered. Once I'd removed & cleaned all connectors, especially the earths it worked a treat.
