I am sure I have seen this somewhere on the internet fitted to a sport 3.5, can anyone help......

I love my bike, the only thing I am not keen on is the front brake. I am sure I have seen some sort of modern disc fitted, it looked like a semi floating sort of thing. I saw one on ebay just after I got my Morini but at the time I didn't know enough about the bike to be confident about buying the upgrade.

He says its a Ducati brake disc though I dont recognise it so cant tell which model it came from.

I am a recent newcomer to morini riding having just recommissioned a 1980 sport . I am well pleased with the front brake mind the bike has twin discs.I had new pads and new seals for the master cylinder, the brakes are bedding in nicely I have done about 50 miles since getting her Motd and Taxed.

Why not give what youve got a makeover before assuming you need a new disc.

Thanks for that, the floating Ducati disk looks like the one I saw, i will do some more looking around.

It is a Ducati Pantah disk, there is a thread about it on the forum

Asuming you have a stock single front disc.....

The standard 16mm bore mastercylinder is a bit too large, which results in the brakes feeling rather wooden.

The 250 twin runs the same wheel, disc, and caliper, but has a 14mm cylinder and the brakes feel just fine (the 16mm is perfect with twin discs).

A new Grimeca cylinder is about £60 from NLM, or you can source an alternative. I know someone was getting 1/2" (12.7mm) cylinders from ebay for about £25.
