Re: Moto Gymkhana Morinis
Excellent! So how did the nimble Morinis compare with other bikes?

I think Paul's sport was nimblest coming in about 3rd place with a KTM 690 taking top spot followed by a Suzuki Bandit. I came in about 5th just up from a Kawasaki ER6 but ahead of a BMW F800S . But the Morini's put up a good show and certainly took the award for most popular bike with 3 out of 7 bikes in our slot. Mine almost did'nt make it when my scottoiler went from not working to spewing oil out like a severed artery in a matter of seconds the night before, so I neutered the scott oiler and removed the injector pipe. Then on Saturday on the way across after checking the forecast and see a small finger of rain moving east I decided to chance it with the leather bottoms, 5 mins out of Royston hit heavy rain and shortly after could feel the water running down my leathers into my boots. Fortunately it petered out near Huntingdon giving me time to dry off on the A14 blast to Corby. A good event, certainly worth trying if you get the chance. I just have to remember when I see cones out on the road with the band round them not to perform a 360 degree turn!!, which is what you would do on a Moto Gymkana course.
Regards
Robin

Re: Moto Gymkhana Morinis
It looks like a mental agility test.
How do you know where to go?
I think i'd definately get lost.

Re: Moto Gymkhana Morinis
Yes it does look a bit bewildering from the outside but not so bad on the bike. The colours of the cones tell you which way to go but you do have to memorise the layout enough to know which is your next cone. On my first lap of the main course I totally got lost and sailed off to circle a cone which was actually part of another course!!
But it does do wonders for your slow-speed riding skills, on the ride back from Rockingham I definitely noticed the difference.
