Poor starting

Hi

My Strada starts first kick when cold, but when the engine is hot and you stop and try and start it again quickly (i.e when filling up) it won't go unless you turn the tickover screws in half a turn. if you stop and leave it 15mins it's fine. It's running a new NLM pickup and 40 pilots (cahnged from 50 when the pickup was fitted). I suspect it's not the pickup, but it would start all the time before it was fitted. Any ideas? :(

If something electronic is going to fail it often does when hot, I would be tempted to refit the old pickup just to test.

Have recently had similar problem, turned out I had the idle speed too low. So when hot, mixture was probably too weak. Increase the tickover on both carbs and it starts no problem when hot. Never tried waiting 15 minutes for engine to cool. Hope this is some help.
