Just looking to replace the tyres and will go with the recommended avons - however looking on their site they seem to suggest two different sizes in two different places - one 90/90 on the front and 100/90 on the rear and the other 100/90 on the front and 110/90 on the rear - which is most appropriate on a 79 sport? thanks - Duncan

Use a 90/90 on the front, a 100/90 is too wide and I'm surprised if Avon list it because it was outside their recommended fittment for that narrow a rim (1.85" is already the narrowest rim recommended for a 90/90). Morini did list a 100/90 front for the K1 (probably following fashion for wider tires), but the old Pirellis were a lot narrower in that size.

On the back go with 100/90 or 110/90 as you like, both seem to work just fine. I have a 110/90 on my Sport.

Does anyone know of a reliable source of these tyres on line as my local bikeshop has taken a week to tell me that their supplier doesn't stock them and its a long way to the next bike shop- Ta _ Duncan

More questions but I like to understand exactly what what i'm spending my money on - contacted M and P who say that the road riders are tubeless tyres - is this correct - are they suitable -or am i looking at the wrong thing - thanks duncan

Tires used to be made in TT (tube type) and TL (tubeless), but more and more these days are only made tubeless. You've always been able to run a tube in a tubeless tire, but it generates more heat, so the speed rating has to be lowered. You should be able to find the technical information on the Avon website.
