My rev counter is faulty, when power is connected the needle goes round to maximum revs. I contacted a repairer I have used before and he said if the coil has burnt out , a common fault, it cannot be repaired and it will still cost £40 to have it tested !
I think I will have a look inside before I waste any money on this.
Tachometer rev counter issue.

Re: Tachometer rev counter issue.
If I have a tach that can't be fixed, my gauge guy takes the guts from a modern tach and uses it with the needle, face and housing to "rebuild" the old tach.

Thanks that's a good idea. I guess most electronic tachos work in the same way.Mepstein wrote:If I have a tach that can't be fixed, my gauge guy takes the guts from a modern tach and uses it with the needle, face and housing to "rebuild" the old tach.
