Couple of pics of my 3 1/2

Post by atreyu »

Hi guys...

I'm not a million miles away from finishing my 3 1/2 sport off now so I thought I would share a couple of pictures with you lot before i have the final attack on it  ..... hope you like what I've done so far. The bike had been stood since 1991, been dropped heavy on both sides and had a bent frame!

New downpipes/heatsheild, tank badges etc should make it look better, but so far I'm quite pleased.

I looks kind of badass in Electric Blue! Daddy likes. Now you've got me thinking paint schemes. Good luck with the details.

Thanks chirpy! :D The master cylinder is a aftermarket GS125 type, 12.7mm bore so gives a much more progressive lever.

Looking at the first two photos, I thought that you didn't have very high standards! Then I saw the rest...

Very nice!

I dont know if the photo works but here is my recent restoration. I still have a bit of finishing off to do .

The brakes are one of the best part of the bike along with the roadholding. Not that happy with the gearchange or being able to find neutral.

You've obviously put some hours into that, and well worth it. Personally I would have had the wheels silver and the tank and side panels just the dark blue without the silver panels. But that's just my opinion.

Looking really nice! Colour is a personal thing (I've had my rebuild painted yellow/black), I like the blue and silver frame, slightly reminiscent of a Ducati especially with the smaller rear light. Is the 'Made in Italy' logo a sticker or a transfer, nice touch.

Good work!

That's chuffin' gorgeous, that is. I want to do mine black where yours is blue, with red in the panels and keep my red frame.

Looks great, but no one has asked 'how much did it cost you'.
I'm sure it is worth it.
I look forward to seeing you out and about next year. :D

Thanks for the comments and input guys :D glad you like it. I was going to do the bike red again hense the gold wheels but then I decided to go for something a little different, plus I'd seen the blue strada in the "touring on a 3 1/2" topic (already had the blue and silver paint!). I think the wheels go, but I think next summer I will blow over the silver sections on the tank and sidepanels to blue and perhaps just have a gold or silver pinstripe where they should be. :?: I've also a pair of wire wheels, its just the cost of having them built!

The cost hasn't been too bad I dont think, but it will add up! I'll have to add up the reciepts.
