Plastic Instrument Surrounds

Post by Stunty69 »

Hi, does anyone know if i can get new ones of these? The circular black plastic surrounds, that have those "oh so strong" 3 little fixing lugs that seemed to snap like dry twigs when i went to remove them! I need two! (and the horrid metal clips that hold them in place).
Thanks... :D

Sorry, not the metal plate, but the plastic circular 'cowls' almost, that go over the clocks, and are secured on the mounting plate by three plastic lugs....

Hi,

Unless you are really wanting/doing a 100% concours, then If you still have the original rings, drill a dia 2.5mm hole approx 6mm deep where the snap off peg(s) used to be and use an M3x8 screw/washer to retain the rings. No need to tap a thread, the screw will do it. Looks way neater and is easier to clean this area as the cleaning cloths have nothing to snag on.

Hope that this helps,

George.
