Local Riders?

Post by Tufftrax »

As a fairly new member of the MRC and Forum (recently bought a very clean, 1981 model, 350K Sport from NLM) I wondered if there are any other Morini enthusiasts relatively close by - I live near Peterborough, Cambs and have only ever seen another 3 1/2 recently (and think he/she was just passing through).

Would be interested to hear from any local-ish riders for rides out / Morini gossip / knowledge and expertise of the marque.

p.s. Thought that the Cadwell Park Track Day was very good (I was just an observer) but rain the afternoon provided a soggy ride home (was a good excuse to clean th bike again though)!

Although about 1 million miles from you, Is it worth all of us putting a ROUGH location on here? I've only seen one Morini near hear at a recent local bike show.

I'm in North Yorkshire, just south of York.

Hi Tufftrax,

I'm in Stevenage, about 50 miles down the A1 from Peterborough, and I know there's another Mark who's a recent Morini owner who lives in the Peterborough area.

It would be good to meet up some time: perhaps you could let people know of any events you are going to or if you're planning a ride. I'll be at Mallory Park on the Saturday of the 1000 Bikes at the MRC stand.

Regards, Mark

It would be easier if everybody went into the profile section and posted their location.

HI Tufftrax,

There are local Morini owners near to you but riders may be not.
In my experience some owners have several bikes and the Morini's are only ridden occasionally.
Anyway I'm in Louth near Cadwell Park and you can always pm me if you want to meet up.
This in LIncolnshire we usually head for Willingham Woods, third Sunday in the month. Looking to try and gather together Morini owners in the area but it can be hard work. There are around 25 in Lincolnshire alone and these are just the ones in the club. If you are not a member become one and I will see if we can arrange some ride outs and meetings around the county. Gald you enjoyed Cadwell and hopefully we can persuade you out on track next year :D

Regards

Hi,

I am located near York, although my 1980 Morini 350 Sport is a bit of a project at the moment and still requires some work/parts to finish. ( for project read in the shed in bits ).

Regards.

Andy.

I'm in Cambridge, but I keep bumping into MarkB all over the place. Unless there are several other MarkBs.

My 350K Sport is in for it's MOT on TUesday; just finished kicking the tyres and cleaning the speedo glass in preparation...

Then there's the Morini Map on Google maps from the Morini mailing list:

Be great if everyone added themselves.

This is the link from the Dutch Morini club.

http://www.smoke.com.au/~ic/morini-list.html

It should work....

There is also an archive of all the old posts on the list, best to check here first if you have a question to save going over old ground.

Again the link is on the Dutch site, who's link is on our links page.

I get a reply saying

" subscribe morini = must be authenticated. To accomplish this, another request must be sent in with an authorization key, which has been sent to: If the message is not received, there is generally a problem with the address. Before reporting this as a problem, please note the following....."

:? :? :? confused!

I'v tried from two different email addresses, one gave the same message as you've described, with no authentication email, and with the other one I got the authentication mail which I responded to and got a reply telling me I had an illegal email address. Does he want people to join the list??!!
