Calipers

Post by unreal »

Hi all just a quick tip, I'm in the process of rebuilding the calipers, they were pretty scabby having at some point been painted gold (all the rage in the mid 80's!) then painted black again. I stripped all the paint off and found the anodising worn through in many places. As they get hot I didn't want to use ordinary paint and the exhaust paint was too matt, then I remembered I had some BBQ paint spray. It works a treat! The finish is a really good match to the original finish, as they're black anyway they only needed a light blow over. And only £6 a can. I think the adhesion should be good (it's stayed on the BBQ OK). Just be careful with the masking.
