I'll offer you £5 more than whatever Mantaray does for that front wheel.

I don't think anyone's mentioned tyres yet: I completely agree that you should keep the bike as original as possible to preserve its history and character, but it's very important to to have nice sticky tyres to exploit the Morini's wonderful handling, and if the bike's been laid up for a number of years, your existing ones probably won't be up to the job. (And if your dad used to race the bike, they won't be original fitment anyway).

Best of luck with it.

My tire suggestion would be "Avon RoadRiders"
The Metric sizes would be something like 90/90-18 Front and 100/90-18 rear

I'm sure others have their favourites as well, but the Avons are pretty much the only
available in North America in these sizes, and far from being a last resort, they are fantastic tires.

I'd say if that bike loses its drum brake, it goes down more than 20%. A Drum brake sport here in the States recently went for well over 11K. A later disc brake did not make 4K recently...and don't let anyone fool you about that front brake, it can STOP that bike, I would guess much better than the discs that came on later models...true, it is only a single/two leading shoe, but mine could easily lock up the front wheel, whether this is a good thing or not....I wish I could have found a clean original bike, mine has been somewhat gone over including, I suspect, a re-spray, and I agree keeping as original as you can live with would be preferable.

We wait and see for the next one on ebay.
11.000 was not very realistic

Well...if you guys are offering 10,000 British, Thormangus can sell his to one of you, and I'll sell mine to the other...Thormangus: If you bike takes an "A" belt, I have a couple, including Pirelli one, if you must keep the bike completely original...Also have a couple of exhaust nuts, a set of metal carb mounts, various cables, including a rear brake cable (with brake switch) if you go to rear sets, which I would highly recommend and a few other bits if you need them...

KEEP THE DRUM BRAKE!!!!!! Or I'll raise them all another £5.
Avon Roadrider tyres, as suggested above-great tyres. Definitely Stick to a 90/90 front as well, bigger tyres don't help on these bikes at all.

Haha. Point taken on the drum brakes. I'll leave it alone. Thanks for all the feedback. I hope I don't have to sell this but in case I do I want to retain value as best as possible. When that day comes I'll be cashing in on those £5 over offers!

Also I very much appreciate the tire suggestion. There's a place in town here that will order and install that set. Perfect. Kind of a bummer though because I think the set that's on there are new in terms of tread used, but just old from sitting.
