Hi
Has anyone ever had their swing arm spindle ground undersize and hard chromed back to standard ( my K2 one is worn and North Leister dont have any) - any contacts for a reputable company would be great
cheers
Hard chrome swing arm pin
There used to be a company called HCPG (I think) who advertised in Classic Bike.
I did a quick search and came up with this: http://www.hardchromeplating.co.uk/
but I couldn't attest to their reputability...
Try the classic monthlies!

He advertised in ATG, Morini servicing in the West Midlands.
One of the items in his ad was
'Swing arm reconditioning and conversion to no maintenance bearings'
No idea what he does but would be interested to know.
P.S I used HPC to replate the 500's fork legs, had no problems with them at all.

Have one machined up in stainless and fit a set of Igus Ilgidur(sp?) bushes. Unlike the useless nylon swingarm bushes of old, these are a propper engineering plastic and will perform as well as the bronze.
I must admit I stick to Bronze, but I've got my own machine tools and can make them wheneve I want. You can also machine the wear out of the spindle and make bushes to suit. However, you should also make new support plates that bolt onto the centre section of the frame. These give the spindle additional support and ensure your Morini keeps it's legendary handling.
