Where to find 3 1/2 Ignition Coil Formers ?

Post by AK99 »

Good folk of the Riders Forum...

I need to source a new former for the ignition coil on the Strada. A friend of mine has dismantled the unit for rewiring, and the original 47 year old former has disintegrated.

I had a look across the forum using the search function there, but haven't been able to find info on how to go about sourcing one.

Qn: Is there anybody who can currently 3D print and supply one of these - or indeed are there any alternative / aftermarket coils off scooters or the like which could be stripped down to get a workable substitute ?

Any and all help appreciated as ever,

Thanks, Alan

I got a bobbin from Paul Compton a couple of years ago- he had some made. Maybe there are some left?

Is Paul a member on here by any chance, or would someone have contact info they might share ?

Currently looking at the possibility of sourcing a Vespa lighting coil to strip and use the former from.
