Carb slide needles size.

Post by Mark »

Hi all.
Can someone tell me which needles I need for the vhbz carbs I have on my 350K please?
I understand there are a variety available that depending on exact size and form will change the way the carb functions but unless there are any pearls of wisdom pointing to a different set up I just want to renew the existing ones as they are a bit notched where they enter the jet.
All is standard except 43 pilot jets instead of the original 52.
While I’m here can someone explain the need for the 3 needle positions, although I imagine it falls into the same realm as the different needles in regard to carb function.
Thanks a lot.

E17 needle, clip on 2nd position should be correct.
What atomisers are you using?
The jets will also wear, they are cheap though.

As John said, E17 needle on second position, 260D atomiser and 112 main jet.

Here are a couple of charts...

Hi both.
My atomiser and main jet specs are as you both suggest.
Thanks for the needle info and chart.
