Spokes dimensions for sport 77 disc and drum

Post by Motomat350 »

Hello all Morini’ist :D

Does anyone know the exact specs. For the Borrani rim’s spokes on a 350 sport 77 disc front, and drum rear wheels?
- or any alternative non custom made spoke set that will fit?

Happy riding 8)

The old Dutch Morini Club website has an article by someone who restored a 3½ Sport with wire wheels, twin discs and Borrani rims. There is a little bit of information about the spokes.

Here is a link to the article...

He sent the wheels to be rebuilt by Haan Wheels in The Netherlands. They may well have the data you are after...

The photo shows the finished result...

Thanks Morini Jen :D

I did see that article, and have ben I touch with Haan wheels. Unfortunately they don’t have the data.

Maybe I’ll just have to guesstimate the measurements, and see how how it turns out..

Hello ,

I have photos of a complete front wheel but I can't sent them on this forum .
The Ø of the spokes are 3.5mm and the total lenght is 170mm .
And the spokes are fit inside an outside of the hub .

Hi ,

About the bend angles and lengths I will measure them .
Concerning the photos of the complete wheel I can only send them by e-mail because I am not smart enought to place them on this forum .

Christian .

I think those angles quoted in the reply from Jenny are accurate.

Hello All,

Picking up on this timely thread - I am also looking to re-lace a pair of ‘76 Sport wheels that I foolishly cut the hubs out of probably 25-30yrs ago - with the intention of doing it at that point in time.

Very useful information posted above re. Front wheel spoke spec. - would anyone happen to know the spoke length(s) and bend angle(s) for the rear Sport drum wheel?

Thank you!

I can't help with the lengths sadly but I'm sure that Central Wheel co have supplied them in the past. They usually keep records and specs for everything they've done.
