Battery charging problems

My battery doesn't charge which causes my lights not to work. The engine runs perfect, even for long periode of time. I can charge the battery and then everything works. The battery is only a few months old. When i measure the voltage on the battery with a running engine, it fluctuates between 8 and 18. Is my regulator Broken? If yes what is a good replacement? Doesn't need to be the original, a cheaper Alternative would be nice

18 volts will not be good for the battery. I hope it isn't damaged.

Yeah, it probably is and i've made my peace with that haha. But it would be stupid to replace it before i've Found a solution

For some strange reason, it's working now even though i haven't done anything haha only the Rev counter still isn't working
