Hi,
I’m looking to balance the carbs on my 1979 Sport. I understand that the throttle cables ar3 two different overall lengths, short front, long rear. My question is should the ‘free’ length be the same for both cables? Mine differ by about 15mm which I’m thinking will make balancing tricky. What should the ‘free’ length be?
Thanks

Re: Sport throttle cables
I happened to take my throttle cables off today and measure them as I am going to have new cables made to work with the Tomaselli Domino Chrome Throttle I'm adding. On both the short and the long throttle cables that I measured the inners were both 75mm longer than the outers.
I am going to have my new cables with 23mm longer inners to accommodate the new twist grip.
Mike

Re: Sport throttle cables
If you order them from Venhill there's every chance the inner to outer ratio will be different...when they're right they are very good though
Ive had all sorts of random cables from them over the years, even emailed the company owner about it but nothing changes
