Just received my new-to-me '74 (spokes, single disc..) Strada...
Overall in good original shape...
First impressions from first ride (my other bikes are newer Ducatis...):
1. Suspension is shot. Ordered Hagons same day. Forks will likely be getting emulators, springs, service. Avons ordered today.
2. Motor is a jewel! Very torque-ey mid range, but a little flat on top. Consistent with Strada (vs. Sport) motor?
3. Needs better brakes. Will be ordering parts for second disc soon. Anyone have a spare right fork slider / spare left caliper..?
4. As everyone knows the peg position is shite. More like a cruiser than sport bike... Gotta get rearsets! As this is a US bike, it has the factory left shift linkage. I want to retain left side shifting. Does anyone make a (good / best) rearset kit for these?
I'll fabricate a solution if I have to - but would rather buy a bolt on solution if avail.
Thx.
Rearsets for left hand shift?
Re: Rearsets for left hand shift?
Single disc 350 brakes often feel rather wooden. Fit a smaller bore master cylinder.
The brakes on my 250 felt great and it's the same wheel, disc and caliper, but a 14mm cylinder, rather than a 16mm. New Grimeca 250 master cylinders aren't overly expensive from NLM. Some people have gone even smaller, but watch out for excessive lever travel.
