Key made for 1974 350S

Post by fcnomad »

Hi all,
I am the proud new father of a beautiful 1974 3 1/2 sport. She runs and needs but a tuneup to be at her best. The bike came with only one old CEV key (no numbers on it). I have been to several locksmiths to try to get duplicates made. No luck so far. Does anyone have any info on key blank sources or codes I can use in my quest?
Many thanks!

Thanks Van,
I will give them a ring since it seems that all roads eventually lead to NLM for MMs.
Cheers,

Nomad

My local key cutting shop used a blank from an Alfa Romeo, not sure which model. I needed a slightly longer key and he found the Alfa Romeo blank was up to the job. My morini is a 84 kanguro so not sure if the ignition switches have changed much.

I got a second hand loom a few months ago with a better ignition switch but no key.I gave NLM the number from the front plate of the switch and a key was obtained. Then I got spares cut from it locally. What number is on yours?

Thank you all for your suggestions! I just found a Morini enthusiast here in Brooklyn, NY (seems rare indeed) who has a locksmith with access to all sorts of old and discontinued keys including Guzzies, Dukes etc... Not cheap but worth the price if all else fails.
