Just put the Strada back on the road after a winter lay off, just pooddling about
up to 60 ish running round the lanes 109 mpg I know the clock is a little fast but
even so that's a good result, as good as a Honda 90 I had.

Yes a brilliant result. The strada I had in 75 never lived up to it's promise fuel wise but no doubt youth played a part?

My 1990 zzr1100 gives 60 plus used gently. Another good achievement.

WOW!, 109MPG, now that's what I call efficient. Is it only the Strada that does that or could I expect something similar from my Sport?. I find it rather difficult to ride the Sport sensibly though. I get 74MPg from my 650 V Strom quite regularly, mostly high 60's, but my Ducati riding pal says I have milk floats and JCB's queuing up behind me waiting to pass! (not true by the way)

Cant see why if it's set up right your sport should not do similar mpg, I used to get about 72 from my V-strom,
what got me interested I read a thread on a NC700 forum, these things are supposed to be top dog re MPG
some one was asking if anyone could get 100 mpg US that's 120 mpg UK my Strada as always been good on fuel
so thought I may give them something to beat, so today I brimmed the tank did 69 miles from Knott End to Devils
Bridge and back mostly at 50 mph hit 60 once or twice rural roads climbing to 400 ft and back down out and back,
119 MPG could not get another drop in, it will give the new tech something to beat. It as a spitfire screen and
NLM silencers but is other wise standard.

That is truly amazing fuel consumption, I think I need to look for a Strada to keep my Sport company!

The problem is that Morinis love to be revved and used! I did get 86mpg from my Sport on a 300-mile trip one day which included everything from motorways to unclassified roads, riding around the legal limit over the day; the Strada is generally in the early 70s in terms of consumption. Thanks to Lambertini for that wonderfully efficient engine design.

Though it will pull from 30 mph and less than 2000 revs in top even on this run I did
not let the revs drop that low, mostly 4 to 5000 rpm nothing worse for a engine than
to be run at to low a rpm, If my bike as a fault it's the clutch sometimes slips a little
between 5 and 6000 rpm around the max torque revs on full throttle, it as new springs
and cups some new friction plates will likely cure it, at one point I was averaging 38 mph
by the GPS but this was pushed down to about 33 due to traffic, you cant be hanging around
that much to average a true 33 on twisty country roads complete with tractors and trucks.

I have since ridden a NC700S, not for me, if you are in any way tempted to buy one
then have at least a 1 hour test ride, get it out of town and try the acceleration
as if passing something, many like them but there are a lot for sale with low miles
so I may not be on my own.

No surprise really as it is allegedly based on car engine principles. My old k75 is similar. Not much acceleration but smooth and stress free touring. It also gives between 65/75mpg so Honda are not much advanced on 25 yr old designs.
