Hello all. Well I pick up a 2007 yellow corsaro tomorrow. I have traded in a Buell XB12r to get it. The test ride sealed the deal great riding position and good amount of power. In the last few years I have had a benelli Tornado which sounded fantastic but was uncomfortable, a Griso which was really good and most recently the Buell. Which was surprisingly reliable and handles great. I can't afford or justify a new £15000 bike so I try and buy something a little interesting instead. The Corsaro is exactly that. It has only done around 4000 miles with plenty of service history. It has had an ecu upgrade and the speed sensor replaced for a Ducati part. Hopefully it will prove to be reliable. That said apart from the obvious is there anything I should look out for?

Good move. Watch out for the grin to extend across the whole face then be prepared to spend time getting to know the bike. One day you will realise what a great bike it is. I have had mine over three years and whenever I ride it it occurs to me it has everything. Commuter, tourer, long distances. When run in (10k miles) will pull from under 2k in top gear. Handling is great.

Watch out for fuel light. 20 miles and dry. Also check oil cooler. Pipes can rub and change the banjo washers for copper. Use 10/60 oil and spares available.

Forgot. Suspension. Mine was rock hard when I bought it. The manual has settings for a 75kg rider. I used them and have tweaked the damping slightly. I weigh a few more than that! It took a while for the suspension to run in, too. The ride is very compliant, not jarring, which helps the handling and overall feel.

... and check under the pillion seat. The wiring should have been modified into an electrical block. If not it can overheat and cause a few problems.....

Even if it has been modified, check that someone hasn't tucked the block tightly and neatly between the reg/rec and the frame. The reg/rec surface gets very hot (it has a warning sticker). IMO the block they used isn't really up to the job either. Mine (08 Corsaro) had melted and the insulation on the cables was also melted and burnt. It was very close to shorting out. Now replaced with a higher amp rated block zip-tied well away from the reg/rec.

Thank you for the info! Did about 80 miles today. Engine pulls really well. Seems to be very flickable and pretty comfy too. All in all very happy. I had some spare std pipes included so may look into trying to do something with those to give a little more noise. Failing that there any other systems from other bikes that will fit the Casaro that aren't north of £800!

Well Jimbo, welcome to the world of Morini ownership, and more importantly, Morini riding...

Hopefully it will be trouble free and loads of fun, but you'll have seen already that there are others around to talk through the ups and downs of Morini life. You might want to let us know which area you're from - sometimes it's nice to get together and exchange ideas and experiences face to face. There are quite a few riders of the modern Morini in the Club - and subscriptions help keep this site going, as well as helping with things like Track Day (discounted for members), the magazine ATG, and a number of other social events!

Google mass exhaust in italy quoted me £390 delivered

Again thanks for the info. Checked the wiring all looks good. Bought from an Italian specialist dealer in Harleston. Just down the road from me, Diss, Norfolk. I looked at the mass exhaust. Definitely clears the back end, but I think I prefer the under seat pipes. Will have to see. Good price though.
