veloce mods

Post by Tim Coles »

Hi All

I have finally finished the mods to my 07 Veloce so I thought you might be interested in the results if any of you are thinking along the same lines.

Suspension
I have had the front forks stripped & rebuilt by a race technician he told me the springs were fine but the oil used and air gap was not ideal he put 5 weight oil in and increased the air gap to 130mm. this has really transformed the bike it turns loads better even on the brakes which before used to make the bike want to stand up and the overall feel is really plush now. The shock was also rebuilt but with just a heavier spring for my lard arse it is a lot better but I may well go for a Nitron custom shock later. I've slapped a brand new set of Dunlop Sport Smarts on initial thoughts are they are great sharp handling loads of grip and they are supposed to last.

Brakes
uprated the master cylinders to the 09 radial type not much more power but a lot better more progressive feel.

Engine
Full termignoni sytem with Lamda sensor blanked off, PCIII with a custom map, I now have a genuine 138.59 BHP at the tyre with sweet fuelling and loads of extra mid range. I'm playing with the idea of individual air filters and removing the standard filter to make a pressurised air box (watch this space)

Finally I had the bike re-sprayed in Black with a blue metal flake like the old slingshot gixer thou. With the Italian Tricolre through the middle and the wheels powder coated to match the red in the flag and a few carbon panels. It didn't need it but it looks the dogs danglers now I'll post a picture when I get a chance to photograph it.
So all done for now and i'm off to the South of France in August "GOOD TIMES" :D total cost about £2k including the new Dunlop sport smarts, all in all I think not bad

Stay safe

Tim

PS good news about the factory finally being bought :P

Kind of you to offer ,

Just curious as i find the standard corsaro front end far too unforgiving.

one of these days i'll get round to having them fixed.
