Missplaced horsepower!!!

Post by Dave »

Had the Corsaro out today back to back with a KTM Adventure, no contest. Also ran it side to side with my Buell again no contest. What I have observed and was confirmed today by a friend who rode the bike last year is that its not the same bike. I keep stating that last year the bike was fast up to 5000 RPM and ballistic from 5 to 9000 RPM.
What the both of us observed today was good exceleration up to 7000 RPM and then a burst of power from 7 to 9000 RPM. At no time was the front wheel pawing at the air whereas before it lifted the wheel in the first Three gears under hard excelleration. Now its safe quick forward progression the bike does not want to bite the head of you. People talk about the 2006 bikes being uncontrolable with sudden responces to the throtle and the recall reprograming of the bike smoothing things out. My bike had the mod done. Is it possible that the bike reverted to its original state of tune for a while and is now in the modified state of tune? One final thought is that last year when it went sick it dumped fuel at 10 miles to the gallon and ran black sooty plugs and end cans so could it have killed the Cat ? I want the old killer bike back and im going to book in for a Dyno session to see exactly what is happening to all those horses inside, wish me luck

Good luck with this Dave..

Be interested to see what the result of the Dyno run is...

there seems to be a pattern emerging here of bikes coming out of hibernation and not running 100% :?: :?:
