Ive had my 2006 Corsaro out a couple of times this week and im pretty sure its down on power. I run it with open Termies and it used to sound amazing with a very crisp bark and a beautifull burble on the overun when you close the throttle. Even blipping the throttle produced a purring feline sound. On the road this bike was fast up to 5000 RPM and ballistic from 5 to 9000 RPM. The bike would lift the front wheel just on power alone. The exhaust note has gone the blistering exceleration has gone and the sheer pulling power is gone (80 to 100 just average ) Dont think that the bike isent quick or its not running smooth it is but the fire is gone. My riding companions have a range of bikes a Triumph Tiger 130 BHP and a Buell 100 BHP so far we have not been out together this year but it feels like ive got 100 to 120 BHP. Exhaust colour is good and even, temerature is spot on, Air filter clean, oil and filter 200 miles and the factory update was installed in 07 along with the connector block. The bike starts on the button idles to warm up and then the tyres are warmed before the party starts but it just isnt happening.
So where did the power go and how do I get it back?
PS
Sixty views about my battery query and still no confirmation on model number somebody must have used an Odyssey battery all I need is the model number to confirm that the one im being offered is the right one.

Re: Lost horsepower
i was going to say are the throttle butterflies fully open but when you mentioned the exhaust not sounding right could it be the cat is blocked up!
That would reduce give reduced power and a muted exhaust note . A bit like farting through a bag or a constipated corsaro.
probably wrong

Re: Lost horsepower
Has the bike been standing over winter..?? .may be a long shot but just in case the injector pintles are a bit gummed up with the Ronseal that now passes as 95 RON unleaded fuel, try a can of Seafoam in the tank..(try ebay) .this will clean the entire fuel system and get rid of any water that might have been absorbed as well....
I only run my Morini and Benelli (both plasic tanks) on Super Unleadd these days after the 'expanding tank' scare with current 95 RON

Re: Lost horsepower
I can't help with the loss of power as mine still goes like a train I'm pleased to say.....but many of the views on your battery post will be me checking to see if there is an answer as I want one too.

Re: Lost horsepower
Dave,
I've just replied to your battery post, hope that helps a little. On which note...
...Loss of performance- Hard to say without having the bike properly checked over but if you have had the battery off then you might have cleared the adaptions stored in the ECU.
I'm not familiar with the strategy of the Corsaro ECU but if the fuelling adaptions are stored in a volatile memory then you'll lose them when the battery is disconnected. If this is the case, it may take a little while before your bike is running 'normally' again while it's re learning the adaptions, especially if you have a bike with different to standard fuelling requirements (open termis will do it)
On the other hand, Other than the Corsaro, what have you been riding/driving recently? I get to drive some pretty quick cars at work and it's amazing how quickly you become used to the performance- so much so that my car (and occasionally the Corsaro too) feel underpowered.
