I think before you go any further try and get a pressure reading by fitting a gauge off the oil cooler flow and return hoses.
Remove the oil cooler if you want and fit a blanking plug to one feed and fit a gauge to the other threaded inlet.
Or somewhere else on the bike that you can tap into the oil feed line.
You can pick one up on ebay for a reasonable sum.
Don't take my word for it though, im not a mechanic
better to spend a small amount of time and money and know whether you have a fault or not. Then go the experts who will gladly lighten your wallet.
looking back at his post i'm probably talking shi*** My line of thinking was don't trust the sensors but get an accurate reading via a pressure test, just as you would if a head gasket was leaking. Otherwise you may go up a blind alley and waste money. Speaking from experience.
