CHAINS AND SPROCKETS
CHAINS AND SPROCKETS
Im a new member of the club and i own a Corsaro 06 model. It is possibly the only one in Northern Ireland. Can anyone advise me about chains and sprockets for this bike? I contacted 3X and all they offered was a kit with the front sprocket currently on back order(3 weeks) and they would not divulge even the pitch or number of links in the chain. Very helpfull i dont think so. Add that to a policy of using a very expensive postal service to N I and you can see the problems that ownership of this wonderfull bike poses but I will endure.
Re: CHAINS AND SPROCKETS
this place seems to be one of the limited places that lists the corsaro:

Hi Dave, hows it going? ( are you Dave from the NIIMC?)
Have you tried north Leicester motorcycles? Thats where my 9 1/2 came from.
Cheers

Re: CHAINS AND SPROCKETS
Hi Dave, and welcome to the world of Morini and the Clubs' Forum!
Out of interest, what is the approximate mileage of the bike? There has been some debate on tyre life, and one member replaced his brake pads after 12,000 miles, but little mention of chains.
I hope that you enjoy the bike, and look forward to hearing more on it,
Good riding,
CC

Re: CHAINS AND SPROCKETS
Thanks for replying. The bike has about 8500 miles on it the instrument cluster was replaced due to condensation. The two front discs were replaced due to a suspected warp. All done under warrenty. The bike had one previous owner he bought it new as an X demo from the dealer(now gone) It is currently running Diablo Rosso rubber which is great in the dry but this is Norn Iron and it does get wet and loose. I think i will try Pirrelli Angels later this year. The chain has a tight spot in it the sprockets are in good shape ive riden with worse.corsaro chris wrote:Hi Dave, and welcome to the world of Morini and the Clubs' Forum!

Re: CHAINS AND SPROCKETS
On tyres - I found that a pair of Bridgestones were surprisingly good in both wet and dry - although the rear only lasted for 4,500 miles as opposed to the 6,000 of the OE.
I guess that I rode gently, as the chain was fine after 15,000 miles, although it was oiled regularly (some would say too much, but I'd rather have a bit of muck around the frame than a worn chain) and only needed adjusting a couple of times...
Enjoy it - they're designed to be ridden - its why its a Riders Club

Cool, didn't think there was much chance of 2 Corsaro's owned by 2 Dave's in N.I.
Hmmmmm thats a bit odd.
Yeah we will have to get them together for a few photos etc, be good to get the Duke there and if i can get the old man to get the Guzzi on the road, as opposed to turning up on the BMW, that will be 4 Italian twins together
