Corsaro & Veloce radiator fan hole spacings

Post by Guvo »

Can anyone confirm to me if the placement of the radiator fans and their hole spacings through the radiator are identical.

Radiator Protection

Post by Guvo »

The reason I wanted to find out if the Corsaro radiator fan hole spacings are in the same location from bike to bike.I have purchased a excess of 304 grade stainless steel woven mesh, removed the radiator and used the thurmo fan mounting holes as a template to fabricate my own radiator guard. There is no genuine Morini or after market radiator protection on the market that I could source here in Australia. I utilized the original Alan keyed nylon fan bolts that hold the fans on to the radiator.Never liked the factory self tappers that screwed in to these original nylon bolts to hold the fans on to the radiator. This seamed to flimsy. I drilled 4mm holes through these original nylon radiator fan fixing bolts to place through the center a 65mm X 4mm stainless fine thread bolt.I had to reduce the heads of these bolts minimally to fit in to the countersunk alan key holes of the original nylon bolts.4mm stainless washers and nylox lock nuts were used.Six holes where then punched out of the stainless mesh.Rubber electrical grommet's where then inserted in to the holes of the mesh. The modified nylon bolts then were pushed through the grommets, this gave 4mm of clearance between the mesh guard and the radiator.Around the perimeter of the mesh I placed resilient piping glued with clear construction adhesive. I also used the same mesh for the oil cooler. The two jobs turned out very well, like the protection is factory designed and fitted.I have taken a few photographs.ImageImageImageImage

Stainless mesh guards work a treat with zero impactor intrusion or defect. So far so good!
