New Aussie Veloce owner
Veloce
Guvo,
After 15 yrs riding Ducati sports bikes, I test rode the Brutale, Speed Triple, S4RS, Buell and Benelli - the rode and fell in love with the Veloce. Bought it from Causeway European (Kawasaki) in Perth in Dec 08 and haven't stopped smiling since.
This bike is a gas and the missus reckons it's more comfortable than the old 900SS - except it's a bit easy to pop.
Shame about Stoney Creek as I received the full 2nd set of Termi pipes but not the ECU.
Did you get the ECU?
Happy riding.

Vtwinit: Yes, I did receive the race ECU, do not use it though. It makes the bike drink big time, and the engine will not idle using it with the end cap,s removed unless it is dyno tuned correctly.I have red a post here that the race ECU is not compatible with the powercommander 111,which will be my next addition.I will be after a de-cat pipe at a later stage.
Mapping Issues
VTXBRIT: Thank you for your post.I have printed your reply to consult my technician. They may not be as familiar with the product here as in the UK.I know our Morini mechanic has already fitted a Dynojet Power Commander to a Veloce with success, improving the bike,s bottom end & mid range power and smoothness. The Moto Morini Corsaro Veloce are not that thick on the ground here in Aus.
New ECU
New ECU is being installed 7 July 2009 intead of purchasing and installing the Power Commander which I relies does not override the original ECU.The TPS will have to be re-set apon the new ECU,s intallation. My Morini Technician has had great success with this new ECU on other Corsaro Veloce,s , it is modle specific and will not work on his 9 1/2, I am told.(Franky, if you have that De-Cat pipe still for sale give me a figure) cheers. Guvo did you get a new ECU from Alan @ FX Powersports? I bought my bike from him (April 08 ) and had it shipped to Perth and absolutely love the bike. I do have a PCIII fitted and it did make a difference mid range and up top but not down the bottom.
Never really had any fueling issues but if there are new maps that are avail i wouldn't mind trying one as a mate has an axone handset to flash the ECU.
Are you running the road ECU or the track ECU in your Veloce?
Also after reading this thread, i have an 08 Veloce and an 08 Benelli Cafe Racer. Never had any quirks or issues with either but I can safely say I would give away the Cafe Racer for free if it ment keeping the Veloce

Waikikamucau: Yes , Alan at FX Powersports sold me the latest(sorted) ECU for half price, top bloke looks after his customers.I was considering going down the Power commander path but after conversing with the FX powersport technician Dominic. He suggested not to do that, because it would be a lot more expensive and it would not remedy the original situation just mask or convert the mapping information. I love the bike now, would not swap it for two Ducati Streetfighters.

Cheers Guvo
Did it make much of a difference in the fuelling when you got it replaced? is it a lot smoother? As i said i haven't had any issues with mine at all but if it can be made better then why not?

Awesome.Perfect fueling and state of tune now for it's design criteria for spirited road riding,an occasional track day and just commuting in traffic.Low rev roll on's in 6th gear up mild gradients at below 2500 rmp with out complaints.Try doing that on a Ducati Streetfighter. It could well easily be in a higher state of tune with bigger cams and higher compression, racing fuel map to out perform most Ducati's.But this would take away it's brilliant road maner.I am biased for sure ,because I own one and have sorted all my past issues out.I still think the Moto Morini Corsaro Veloce is the best Naked V-Twin sports ("Road") bike in the world. The Australian Motor Cycle News Magazine had a recent comparison between most Naked bike's but again the Corsaro Veloce was left out, probably because there is no Morini Importer at this present time down under and the bike's that are on the roads down here is only at best few and far between. The streetfighter was the winner for it's faster track time and crazyness over the KTM superduke. Both of these bikes are no where near as easy to live with on a day to day basis. They are also not engineered for longevity like the Morini, and are a lot more fragile, expensive to service and maintain. But I don,t need to convince you guy's on that one.

G,Day Englishmen and others.Get your Victorian Australian High Country Maps out.I am excited that I am going for a blat on my Corsaro Veloce.I still have standard fittment tyres, shock.DUNLOP HAS LAUNCHED THE NEW SPORTMAX Q2 IN AUSTRALIA,these would be a lot better for next time.Checked the bike over increased the rear shock preload by one click and changed the engine oil to Motul's top goo the 10w40 300 factoryline double ester.Riding companion VFR 800.Heading up the Maroondah high way through the Marysville area to chech out the bushfire devastation and re-growth from black saturday that occurred 7th of Feburary 2009.Then we will ride in to Eildon and take the Eildon Jamieson road, last time we went through here there was around 12 kilometres of unsealed section.Hopefully it is not still unsealed this time as the Veloce is no Scrambler or Granpasso. From Jamieson we will go through Mansfield up the C521 Mansfield-Whitfield road through the infamous Ned Kelly outlaw country then through Milawa for a glass of wine, then on to the famous Great Alpine Road through Myrtleford only to get to the Happy Valley Road turn off heading east to the Kiewa Vally Highway then up through Mount Beauty over the awesome Bogong High Plains Road through Falls Creek. The Bogong High Plains Road will receive its final seal starting on Wednesday, 24 February 2010. The work is expected to take more than a week.
Alpine Shire Council¹s Manager Strategic Services, John Carter said the final seal and guard rail will be installed to complete the road sealing project.
"It is expected there will be minor delays while the work is in progress and the surface will be vacuumed of loose stones at the same time," Mr Carter said.
"This will be welcomed by all the road users. The "Unique Alpine Loop" will be awesome for Motorcyclists and can be enjoyed by car tourers, and road cyclists alike as long as they are aware the Loop will be a Motorcyclist's Nirvana. It is already proving popular. It will be famed because it is now sealed all the way,now to the Omeo Highway the C543,which when this is fully sealed in all it's length from the Murry Valley Highway right down to Omeo will,in my opinion be the best motorcyclist's mountain ride in Victoria may be in all of Australia.Getting back on the ride's topic, heading south on the Omeo Highway we go through Anglers Rest ,down on to you guessed it,Omeo to re-fuel,rest ass, bite to eat then for the best bit.Back on to the Famous Great Alpine Road up over Dinner Plain and Mount Hotham then down the Mountain,in to Bright to book in to the Riverbank Park Motel which is nestled on the banks of the picturesque Ovens River for a thick T-Bone Steak and may be a few hot one's and definately a few cold one's.Day two either snake back to Melbourne on the winding back roads or if we are nackered, straight down the Hume Freeway.

Re: New Aussie Veloce owner
Hi Guvo, I also bought my Veloce from Alan at FX Powersports (Oct. '08) and had it shipped up to Queensland where I live. My bike was delivered with the Termignonis already fitted and the sports ECU in the box. I havn't yet bothered to fit the alternative ECU, but might get around to it one day.
I was just wondering if you know whether the one you bought from Allen is the same as the (sports) one supplied by the factory or is it an upgrade?

Re: New Aussie Veloce owner
Beveldrive: Alan sold me the upgraded ECU from which,Morini had ,by this time sorted all the fueling issues out.The original ECU was swapped back to him along with $400 Australian dollars.Alan stated this was half price.I am sure it was a good urn for him for as he received my original ECU to re-map or to return to Morini for a credit. The above post's road trip was to long to do all in one day.The weather was a warm 27 to 30 celcius.I had to unzip the lining out of the dainese jacket then jump into the Mitta Mitta river to cool off.The Corsaro Veloce went like a rocket. We did 1000 kilometers in the two days.I now need that new rear tyre as the belt is starting to show through at 10500 kilometers on the odometer. On the first day we rode up through Healsville,Marysville,Eildon,Jamison, then stopped for lunch at Mansfield. Then the C521 Mansfield-Whitfield road on through a place called Tolmie was fantastic.I was a bit worried about all the Kangaroo, wombat warning signs along the way but learned they usually only move about at dawn and dusk to pose any real threat to motorcyclists. We stopped at Milawa pub for a pot of beer and a game of pool with a well needed rest, here we decided to proceed straight to Bright and book in to the River Veiw Motel.Had a shower, dressed into shorts and a T-shirt,thongs then sauntered along the overns river into the bottle shop in Bright central for a few bundies (rum) and coke.We took these beverages back to the motel, then my VFR riding companion rolled a hot one for which as a non smoker it got me a bit orff as it would.Walked or should that be floated back into the local Chinese eatery for a meal.Day two early start over Mount Hotham across Dinner Plain down to Omeo.Up the Omeo highway for that swim, then left on to the newly sealed Bogong High Plains Road. The kawasaki Z1000 owners club was up and about, we saw them in Bright the evening before and in Omeo on day two.The Bogong High Plains Road will be very good, still covered in loose material and is a bit narrow, give it a few seasons of snow, water run off and traffic and it should be tops. The Corsaro Veloce's fuel economy surprised us both. After filling both tanks then topping up both bikes the VFR 800, took approximately $1.50 less to re-fill.I am now considering going a tooth smaller on the front sprocket.I bloke I know that has a Ducati 1089s has gone from a 15 to a 14 tooth front sprocket and stated to me the bike is better around town has more punch in acceleration and sits on 110 kilometers per hour at 4 thousand revs in top gear instead of 117 kilometers per hour. This is where the Corsaro Veloce sits in the same top gear at the same 4 thousand revs on the tacko.I still need one black Corsaro tank cover if any has one to sell. http://www.motomorini.com/web/?&win=pop&#?id=accessori&
