The next issue is sprag clutch seems to be on its way out. Twice today the starter has span up without turning over the motor. Does anyone know a generic part number for one? Thanks

The exploded view in the workshop manual only shows & states a 'complete clutch'.
The code is M1614030. No 9 on the list.
Maybe a start in the right direction?

I have not had a chance to have a proper look but it could be using a similar cam shaped roller bearing as Ducati, that only grip one way and slips the other. When I have had problems with Ducatis I have always shortened the spring which works every time, just guessing here, if anyone knows better, I would be interested to know.

Ah cool i did see a video when someone did the same and shortened the spring. But I want to make sure it’s ok. I have ordered a flywheel puller. Has anyone got a sketch of the tool to hold the generator rotor flywheel thingy?

Hi Tinker,
You can find a picture of the original tool in the parts' list M00100006400. Here are two pictures of a homemade version.
Best regards
Robert

Hi Tinker,
I am currently travelling and can only send them when I'll be back home on Thursday. The former importer März in Germany sells the original tool for about Euro70, but I don"t know whether they ship to the UK.
Regards
Robert

No problem. A piece of plastic tube (see photo) between tool and flywheel centers the tool and helps to overcome magnetic attraction
