Just a little post in case it affects you.

The Dart has two fuses which are mounted in a double fuse holder on the same plate as the ignition coils. Conveniently the mounts incorporate a spare fuse for each. Unfortunately the plastic these are made of had deteriorated such that it fell apart in my hands when I went to reassemble things.

Knowing that new parts would be unobtainable/expensive/haven't got a clue where to look I drew them up and 3D printed new ones. Just to think back in the dark ages I would have spent days hacking and filing a lump of paxolin to achieve what took a couple of hours (it took three attempts to get it right!!).

What type of fuses did Morini use for the Dart? If they are the same as the earlier bikes I would have been tempted to change them to blade type. The micro blades take up very little space.

They are the larger blade type - the holder is marked CEV - if they had been the old type as on the 3 1/2 or the inline type I would indeed have updated them to blade type. I have done the upgrade on my Coguaro and Kanguro X3 and they do tuck away quite nicely!

I need to do the upgrade on my 31/2, I hate the old fuses, vibration can destroy the fuse wire and the connections can be dodgy. A job for winter.

I took the fuses out of my K1 a couple of weeks ago by way of cleaning the contacts and checking if they were loose.Haven’t been touched since 2011. First time for everything I guess.
Getting the fuses back in proved to be quite a mission as the contacts were tight and needed splaying apart. Don’t fancy that at the roadside. In rain. In the dark. My beemer ones are inside the headlamp so no better.

Only two white ones on an airhead, unlike the three on a Morini which are all different and nobody appears to know the values (plus the loose one in the Red lead!).
