Hi,
What idle jet would a 350 dart have? mine has 45# with 92# main jet at the moment, this is with the 'flower pot in place'
I am not sure if the choke 'o' rings have seated properly because when I screw the pilot screws in, the engine does not stall and it makes very little difference.

Hi,

Your jetting sounds similar to my 1984 Kanguro X1, if you remove the flower pot you can increase the main jet size by approx 10 to increase the fuel/air ratio as the carb will breath better. I am running K&N's, I know this is frowned upon but it works, with a 108 main jet. Also I had a 50 pilot and found it stumbled on pulling away after standing at idle, I reduced mine down to a 42 and this has cured this stumble completely. The only downside of reducing/leaning the pilot jet is it takes slightly longing to warmup and pull and run cleanly, not a major problem and after 5 minutes is ok.

Have you still got the emission control valve fitted?

The emission control valve is disconnected, still there and connected to the black box. There is a pipe connecting both carbs together. I need to get a couple more jubilee clips to hold the rubber 90 degree pipes to the air box, they may not be sealing.

What should the pilot jet size be?

Idle jets are 45 standard and I never changed mine.

It could be ignitoin timing. Darts can be prone to the revs 'hanging' on the advance curve and the ignition is sometimes backed off to prevent this. If the timimng is retarded too far, then the throttle stops may be too far in to compensate, so you're just off the idle circuit and into the progression.
