Dart added to the herd.

Post by huub »

i just couldnt resist the temptation , this will keep my 350 sport and camel company. 8)
there is still quite a lot of work to do on it , on the other side the fairing is smashed,
finding a used panel in unlikely, so i can try my hand at repairing fairings.

i've always been curious how these handle, i'm soon going to find out.

ok , so apart from the fairing it is in amazinglly good shape,
the 25.000 indicated km might actually be true.
now the fairing is pieced back together, new fairing wellnuts and new belt ordered,
i will wait to start it until the new belt is fitted.
anybody found a match for the white paint of the fairing?

Dear Moto-Morini community,
I'm new to the forum today, I'm from Germany, recently bought a Dart 400 and have already had some great advice and help with an oil pressure switch issue from Tom in Northampton. When I was looking to buy my first new bike in 1994, the Dart was top of the list, partly because it was so reasonably priced. Thanks to a donation from my grandma, I ended up with a Ducati 750 Supersport, but the little Dart has stayed with me ever since. At the beginning of this year, I actually found a Dart in northern Germany. It was the daily driver of a Morini collector who unfortunately passed away. The Dart runs well, now has 42,000 km on the clock and the fairing has been patched up. I have four questions for you:
- Here are a few pictures of the condition of the fairings. What do you think?
- Are there any reproductions of the fairings available? There was something here in the forum, in a post from 2023 (=> see quote above)
- Does anyone still have the rear part of the front fender for sale? I find this look even more striking.
The basic color of the Dart (white metallic) reminds me of the Honda color Pear Shell White NH121. Does anyone know what the original Morini Dart color was called?
Many thanks in advance and best regards
Matthias
