These are really weird looking items, and I need three of them!
The penalties of running exotic Morini over many years - at 65,000 km two of the three 8mm threaded bolts have had the rubber centres perish. Any ideas where I can get replacements, or am I looking at simply replacing them with longer 8mm bolts and a piece of rubber tubing to dampen the vibrations?
Good riding,
CC

Re: Instrument Panels screws
Are these some kind of 'silentblock' type mounting? The GFR uses something similar for the instrument panel. A kind of rubber damper with a bolt (well set screw really) each end?
Try googling for M8 silentblock if that's the case. Possibly available on Ebay or Amazon though it might be tricky finding them in exactly the correct dimensions.

Re: Instrument Panels screws
The nut is 8mm across flats, which would be a 5mm thread.

Ah, that makes sense. I thought M8 threads sounded more like the size of 'cotton reel' type exhaust mountings for 2T expansion chambers.EVguru wrote:The nut is 8mm across flats, which would be a 5mm thread.

Re: Instrument Panels screws
Thanks Paul - that's exactly like the existing units.
I'll look to get some in the longer term, I've put together a short term solution with rubber spacers, which still retains a good degree of cushioning of the panel, using three M5 bolts...
Cheers,
Chris

Thanks for that,
I have had the same problem, I tried to stick them back together with sikaflex but eventually resorted to a couple of cable ties which my MOT man has commented on for the last couple of years.
